Point of View Quilt Block

Point of View

Quick Project with (nearly) Instant Gratification

This block pattern, designed by Terri Vanden Bosch, won the 2016 Accuquilt GO! Block Design contest. It is complicated enough to be show worthy, while at the same time, small enough to complete in a couple of days.  Her fabric choices were not something I would have thought of, but they really work well within the block.

Point of View

Although I used the colors in the original design, I did choose my own machine quilting motifs.  I used the “Basic Leaf” in the long strip border areas. In the small squares, I used the “Square Flower”, feathers in the turquoise and black triangle points and a simple leaf in the green triangles. The Orange star has a single “Elm Leaf” within each point.

To add texture, I tightly pebbled the white areas. It is hard to see in the pictures, but it really makes the colored areas pop.
