Disappearing 9 Patch Block Quilter's Planner Weekly Blocks Sew Along This is such a lovely block and surprisingly easy to sew! It looks a lot harder than it is. I like this navy - beige block the best.
February Sew Sampler from Fat Quarter Shop Tropical Oasis Included in this month's Sew Sampler box are 2 charm packs of Sun Print fabric by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics. The colors are so vivid and perfectly tropical. What better pattern choice for this fabric than the included pattern, Mai-Tai. Mai-Tai Quilt Pattern The pattern … Continue reading February 2019 Sew Sampler
Pincushions are so fun! Don't you think? They take minimal fabric and supplies and go together quickly and make great gifts. I used my small butterfly die from the GO! Qube Specialty Set-Serendipity by Edyta Sitar. I applied Ultra Lite Heat and Bond to my fabric BEFORE I cut out the butterfly. It makes a crisp … Continue reading Butterfly Pincushion
Triple Rail Fence Quilter's Planner Weekly Blocks Sew Along This was a surprisingly quick block to sew. There are a lot of seams, so I pressed all of the seams open. I think I like the aqua, beige and navy color combination the best. 🙂
The Quilter's Planner 2019 Sew Along This is the February block for the Sew Along. I am trying to keep my colors the same as the sample in the magazine instructions. Progress posted on instagram as #sandyrumsey #qp2019sewalong #quiltersplanner.
More Pincushions! Kimberly Jolly from Fat Quarter Shop did an interview with Carrie Nelson and they talked about her obsession with pincushions that led to her writting Pin Pals. The book contains 40 patterns with detailed instructions. It would make a good gift for a new quilter. The patterns in the book use the teeny … Continue reading Pin Pals!

After it debuted online in the stores a week or so later, it sold out within hours. I was so glad to receive one in the … Continue reading January 2019 Sew Sampler
9 Patch Block Quilter's Planner Weekly Blocks Sew Along This week's block is a simple 9 patch. I chose to use the background fabric for the contrast squares. I'm loving these little 6 inch blocks. Again, I'm doing 2 of each. I still don't know what I'll do with them. Stay tuned...
I love thread. Having said that, my thread collection is very minimal. After I bought my new Bernina, I threw away my entire Connecting Threads thread collection. It wasn't a high enough quality and left a lot of lent in my machine. I made a point of only using quality, low lent threads going forward. … Continue reading Aurifil Thread Club
To match my Swoon 16 Bed Quilt, I made a very small replica wallhanging, The Mini Swoon by Thimble Blossoms. The mini quilt measures 19" x 19" and uses the smallest scraps. The Swoon block is a bit time consuming and this mini version is no exception. The small pieces can be a bit tedious … Continue reading Mini Swoon by Thimble Blossoms
So, last month, I participated in the Perfect 10 Sampler Sew Along from Sew Emma's "Perfect 10" book. The sampler consisted of one block from each of the 16 quilts. It gives the opportunity to see which block most appeals to you, I think. After finishing the sampler, I knew that I wanted to do … Continue reading Cookie Dough Quilt
